1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Storypop AI ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Storypop AI, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information — Name, email address, password (encrypted), and authentication data.

Content you provide

  • Photos you upload to create an AI character.
  • Voice samples, if you choose to use voice cloning (with your explicit consent).
  • Ideas, prompts, scripts, and edits you submit for content generation.
  • Videos, images, and audio you generate or upload inside the platform.

Connected accounts — Social media account tokens and profile information when you connect TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or other supported platforms for publishing.

Payment information — Subscription plan, billing status, and transaction records. Card and payment details are processed by our payment providers (Paystack, Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers.

Usage data — App activity, feature usage, device/browser information, and analytics needed to operate and improve the Service.

3. How we use your information

  • To generate your AI character and content on your behalf.
  • To operate core features: script generation, video/voice generation, editing, publishing, scheduling, and analytics.
  • To process subscription billing, renewals, and upgrades/downgrades.
  • To publish content to the social platforms you explicitly connect and authorize.
  • To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • To improve product quality, reliability, and safety.
  • To detect abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.

4. AI processing of your photo and voice

Photos and voice samples you upload are sent to our AI providers (for character generation, video generation, and voice synthesis) solely to produce the content you request. These providers are never exposed directly to you, and all requests are routed through our secure backend. Voice cloning is only performed with your explicit authorization and consent, and can be revoked at any time in your account settings.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • AI infrastructure providers, to generate scripts, characters, video, and voice on your behalf.
  • Social media platforms, only when you connect an account and choose to publish or schedule content.
  • Payment processors (Paystack, Stripe), to process subscriptions and payments.
  • Service providers who support hosting, storage, and analytics under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal authorities, only where required by law.

6. Data storage & security

Your data is stored using industry-standard encryption and access controls, including Row Level Security on our database so that your content is only accessible to your account. We maintain technical and organizational safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data, characters, and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your uploaded photos, generated AI characters, videos, and associated personal data are permanently deleted, except where we are legally required to retain limited records (e.g. billing history).

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or export your personal data.
  • Delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings.
  • Withdraw consent for voice cloning at any time.
  • Disconnect any connected social media account at any time.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
